There has been an introduction of more powerful feature rich, cheaper digital SLR stills cameras. This had led to better results from semi-professional photographers. The wedding market has seen an increase of these semi-professional photographers, some to make extra money at the weekend and some just to cover a family of friends wedding.
Just whats involved in photographing a wedding?
As mentioned the first thing is equipment, a decent SLR digital camera, lens, media such as cf cards and important extras such as a flash, filters, reflector and tripod. Then a good idea of what shoots you need to capture, have a quick google search for wedding shot lists, look through several collate them and take this with you to the wedding a a guide.
Next have a browse round the net for great photographs and note what you like about them, print them off and take them with you to give you inspiration on creative shots on the day.
The stage after preparation – the Wedding Day!!!!
So you have planned and prepared and have been given a good idea of what the couple require now your ready for the day right?! Its always good to get to the venue early, this will enable you to capture some great detail shots while things are still being setup. Keep your shot list in mind, but also try to capture moments as they happen (these are often the best shots) , the main thing to do is to be there in a good position for the big moments.
The aftermath!
Editing the images, creating photo-books, mastering prints, uploading to the internet a the correct file size. The first thing to do is back-up all your images to your hard-drive, just incase! Then you need to use the editing tool of your choice to sift through the hundreds of images. The best thing to do is only keep the best images, then run these through the editing process.
